At Sam’s Fife we believe in being there for people on a walk-in basis. People can attend on a day and at a time that is convenient for them, rather than a fixed appointment.

At Sam’s Fife there is always a warm welcome by a team of mental health peer workers who offer time-space-compassion. Peer workers have their own lived experience of mental health issues and a recovery journey. Peers can offer compassion from the perspective of a lived journey.

The support offered at Sam’s Leven is on a one-to one basis and the support starts with what is important for the person that day. Sam’s Fife is a safe space where you can explore wellbeing, relationship/family issues, crisis situations and suicidal thoughts.

The space at Leven is a large traditional hall with wooden flooring with numerous areas for seating. There are sofa spaces and tables with chairs. There are partition furniture located at some points in the hall.

There are numerous posters with regards to community organisations on the two noticeboards in the hall.

To access Forth Street Hall there is a Sam’s Fife banner and Sam’s Fife noticeboard at start of path to the main door at the hall. There is also a Sam’s Fife sign at the main door.

On accessing Sam’s Fife a peer worker will offer a warm welcome, explain about Sam’s Fife support and get the kettle on! People will be offered the time-space-compassion to explore what is important for them that day.

Sam’s Fife workers access training and development through SAMH (the Scottish Action for Mental Health) including in the areas of suicide prevention and mental health.

To-be-sure there are Sam’s Fife developed resources that can support people to consider approaches to coping. There is a suite of peer developed resources to support people in moving forward with what is important for them.

Sam’s Fife is safe space where people are supported by peer workers who have the time to offer meaningful support and opportunities to return for support...without need for an appointment or a referral. People can drop-in another day, at a time that is convenient for one-to-one support.

People are welcome to attend with a family member/friend/ worker...Sam’s Fife is a 16 years plus project, therefore people have to be over 16 when attending or attending with someone.
